I specialize in individualized 1 on 1 personal training, small group personal training (2-3 people), fitness and wellness programs for women who want to feel, move and live better!  All sessions are provided in my private, professional fitness studio in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada. 

 

I am grateful for a lifelong love of movement and I have dedicated my career as a trainer and fitness professional to serving, supporting and motivating people of all shapes, sizes and fitness abilities to experience an improved quality of life through fitness. 


As a certified personal trainer with 28 years of hands-on experience, a background in Kinesiology, and an honors  distinction diploma in therapeutic massage I believe in promoting fitness from the inside out as to me true (and total) fitness incorporates not simply the physical but the mental and emotional as well.


I’m always honoured when a client entrusts me to help them on their fitness journey towards not only improved strength, endurance, mobility and achieving their fitness goals and love it when a client experiences those “aha – I can do this, I did this!” moments and realizes how much more they’re truly capable of. 


I became a fitness trainer because of my complete and total fascination with how the body works and moves and how through utilizing specific muscles and mobilizing joints in certain ways through conscious effort, we can create different results through different approaches and techniques. 


As a teenager I was introduced to the teachings and philosophies of the Joseph Pilates style of fitness and I fell in love. Something about activating those deep powerhouse muscles through precise, specific movements and feeling stronger, longer and more empowered activated what has now become a life-long love of fitness and wellbeing to help others feel the same. 


Proper musculo-skeletal form is my major focus as is preventing injuries through safe form and technique. 


Through the years my practice has evolved from an early years athletic and physique specific training focus to now more optimizing posture and movement through mind-body connection training to help people as they age stay mobile, strong and independent.


True fitness encompasses not only our physical selves but our mental, emotional, social and spiritual selves as well.


I specialize in working with women over 40 who want to get better (and thrive!) with age.  Positive aging requires respecting our hormones, bodies, and mental health as a multitude of changes takes place within our bodies and minds.


As we age it's important to maintain a healthy lifestyle; which includes regular physical activity, so that we remain mobile, independent and help protect ourselves against preventable diseases.


It's why I am dedicated to supporting women's health and fitness and why I created the do it yourself online learning programs found within the Pro Aging Programs


Your health & fitness goals are my priority as is your ability to maintain what you learn throughout life.  I bring a practical and functional movement approach to my work, no fluff, no BS and definitely no fads.

With science and physiology to back it up, women who approach their 40's and onward tend to do best in understanding what those changes are, and how our bodies response to things like stress (exercise, though a "good stress" can still be a stress) and even certain macro-nutrient changes.
